This weeks art gallery was really interesting, and for lack of better words it was wierd. Though it was wierd i really enjoyed it because it kept me entertained and intrigued. I was interested in the shoe display because it didn’t seem so much like “art” to me. It was not outright beautiful but the simplicity captivated me. The artist described the pink shoes to be society’s shoes and the regular ones to be his. Growing up he was told by other kids what shoes were cool and which were not. He would always purchase the ordinary shoe just because it was what was socially accepted but really he wanted to venture out and try new shoes. This art was a display of him wishing he was in societies shoes and not his own. I thought the imagery and creativity of this simple piece was absolutely amazing!
